Claude Blouin and Jamie Dunn, Partners at Blouin, Dunn LLP, are extremely pleased to announce that former articling student Michael Furyk has been hired as an associate at the firm.
Michael obtained his Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Law & Society from York University in 2010, after which he received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Sussex in Brighton, England in 2013.
Before joining Blouin Dunn, Michael worked as a Case Manager & Litigation Support Specialist at a well-known personal injury firm as well as an Accident Benefits Law Clerk at a mid-sized insurance defence firm in downtown Toronto.
Michael completed his articles with Blouin Dunn and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2016. He is an active member of the Canadian Defence Lawyers, Toronto Lawyers Association and the Ontario & Canadian Bar Associations.
Michael has experience in various areas of civil litigation and insurance defence litigation including, but not limited to, personal & bodily injury, statutory accident benefits, transit liability, property damage, occupier’s liability, subrogation and priority and loss transfer claims.
Michael has represented leading insurance companies as well as transit authorities such as Metrolinx at various levels of court attending motions, examinations for discovery, mediations, arbitrations and trials.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys sports, travel, fitness, fashion, music and exotic cuisine.
