
Lauren N. Bloom
Lauren received an undergraduate degree in Psychology from York University in 1995 where she graduated in the top 22 students in her college class. She attended Osgoode Hall Law School receiving her LLB in 1998. While there, she won the Osgoode Moot (pairs) as well as a top Individual Mooting award. Lauren articled at Thomson Rogers where she gained valuable insight into plaintiff’s-side personal injury litigation. Upon her call to the bar in 2000, Lauren began her practice in insurance defence litigation with Jamie Dunn and Claude Blouin.
She continues to practice in the insurance defence field and has focused her practice on motor vehicle accident cases, institutional sexual liability actions, product liability, property damage disputes, Rail and Bus litigation and occupiers’ liability disputes. She has proven successful on numerous summary judgment motions and other applications and contested motions on novel issues of law including pre-natal injuries and spoliation issues. Lauren has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and has attended on administrative matters at the Financial Services Commission.
Lauren is a member with the Canadian Defence Lawyers, Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, and Toronto Lawyers Association. She also acts as PR liaison for the firm.
